After Zdiar, Slovakia, we stopped for a couple of nights in Zakopane, Poland. Not far from here is the largest lake in the Tatra Mountains, Morskie Oko. Every step of the 16km round-trip was worth the view that met us at the top...
The beautiful nearly-at-the-top sight
The stairs on the way up
Isn't it stunning?

Slovakia
Slovakia. The first country where we experienced a language barrier, where we paid 70 cents for a glass of wine (we spent less than half our weekly budget in Slovakia) - also the first time I have been served wine in a pot glass. Where Jono partook in an eating challenge that saw him eat 1.5kilos of pizza in one sitting (don't ask) and where we stayed at one of the best hostels of our trip. It was safe to say we loved Slovakia (and surprisingly, Jon still loves pizza) but we were too busy enjoying ourselves that we didn't take nearly enough photos (and didn't have my camera at the pizza challenge).
My favourite bookstore cafe in Bratislava
Cool shutters in Bratislava
Taking the train to Poprad (this was not the train for the whole journey thank goodness) ** Jon wants me to mention here that when we were walking to the station I said "I hope the train has Wi-fi". In case you were wondering, this train did not have wi-fi.
Waiting at the ghost-town train station
The Ginger Monkey Hostel!
Wine in a pot glass - so classy!
Goulash and dumplings - we ate this for lunch 4 days straight.
The 'Goulash Man'

Austria...
So Austria was our not so favourite place. Blame it on the weather, or on the crappy hostel, or on the creepy-stalker types I seem to attract, but for whatever reason, Austria wasn't great for us.
But we ate some good food and got some good pics (AND lets not forget we watched The Sound of Music!) so it wasn't all bad :)
Cute streets in Salzburg
Preparing for the cold weather :)
Horse drawn carriages in Vienna
This one's for you, Petesy
Street performer in Vienna
Schnitzel the size of your head!!! Yum!!

Laundry days...
Just thought I'd share how unusual laundry day can be when you're always on the move...
Drying clothes in the park
The good old stretchy clothesline above the bunk bed
Oh yes laundry day can be pretty exciting, you never know where you may be drying your clothes next!!
(I'm still procrastinating, I'll be posting more interesting pics soon x)

Thank god for Uncle Ben's...
Currently editing & uploading photos for the next blog post which will be up in the next day or two. In the meantime I thought I'd share a pic of what has been a life saver for us on this trip...
Introducing Uncle Ben's....
At €2 a bag & 2 mins in the microwave it is a cheap, quick & edible dinner :)
Don't be too horrified, we've been sampling plenty of local cuisine too.

Inspiring Travels
I have been enjoying exploring new blogs in the downtime that seems to occur often whilst travelling. Just wanted to share a link to a blog I discovered the other day. Nate Walks America is where a young guy documents the experiences he has whilst walking across America. I love when people choose to travel in a way that is so different from the norm.

Germany... In a nutshell
Germany. Our favourite country so far. We stayed in Heidelberg, Nuremburg & Munich & found each to be interesting & beautiful. We barely touched the computer the entire week we were there, so we decided to post pictures from all of the cities in one go...
There was plenty of beer drinking, fascintating history learnt, national dishes sampled & general exploring.
Here is the photographic evidence...
The BEST coffee I have had so far...
The streets of Heidelberg
Inexplicable Zombies let loose in Heidelberg
Street performers
Attempting to eat Schneeballen
Boating in Heidelberg
Beers... I am starting to appreciate what Luca's liver goes through...
Overlooking Heidelberg (after taking the FUNicular to the top of the mountain)
The FUNicular
Heidelberg castle
The only photo from Nuremburg. Nazi Party Rally grounds. We stayed in Nuremburg for just one night & visited the (aptly named) Museum of Fascination & Terror.
Glockenspiel (voted the second most overrated Tourist Attraction in Europe)
Beer & Bratwurst on the walking tour of Munich (the Bratwurst was demolished before we got the camera out... Of course)
Oh! A Maple... No Jon it's a Maypole.
The Dodger's Alley Tribute
The Hofbrauhaus
Drinking at the Hofbrauhaus (yes those are litre beers)
More drinking at the Hofbrauhaus. Oh Germany you are a bad influence!
Dachau Concentration Camp. "Think about how we died here".
We loved the Sandemans New Europe Walking Tour of Munich and the Dachau Tour - our guide Sonja was brilliant!
